Yesterday was a long, yet exciting day. We started the morning by heading back to the Provincial government building where we first met Sean. Here, we signed some paperwork to register the adoption in China and listened to a short speech by the government official. Sean stayed close to mom and dad, and continued to let us know what he wanted by grabbing one of our hands and putting it on the book or rice cakes. He was getting tired and we eventually got him into the Ergo. He fell asleep before we left and slept all the way to the notary office. His paper work was signed and notarized and the adoption is finalized on the Chinese end. What a great Valentine's Day gift for Joslyn and I! We will wait a few days for his passport and then leave for Guangzhou on Friday.
Sean is getting more and more comfortable with us everyday. He is not as upset when we change his clothes and we even got him into the bathtub this morning. He slept through the night last night and woke up happy. We had a great time playing with him in the hotel hallway yesterday. Joslyn just left to visit Sean's orphanage and Sean is peacefully sleeping on the bed. We have enjoyed reading everyone's coments and we appreciate all of the love and support.
What a doll! I think we all hit the jackpot. Sean and his new family and friends. Love you tons and we are so looking forward to our reunion with you and our boy. Love Mom and Dad
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new family of 3, J&J. We are so, so happy for you and can't wait to meet Sean. He is too cute and you were made to be his parents. Much love and many blessings from WA- Brooke, James & Magda
ReplyDeleteHow lovely! It looks like the hand off was picture perfect! You all look so happy and natural together that it seems he has been with you all along; I suppose in some ways he has. I am so happy for you and can't wait to meet the little man! Now, when he gets home and gets over the shock of Murphy I'll introduce him to a real dog and nip this little dislike of animals thing in the bud! ha ha Enjoy your first days together, enjoy your remaining time in China and most of all enjoy the fact that you are now the family you've both waited and worked for. Politcally correct or not, some of the best things are made in China!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for letting us share these moments with you. Grandma Seipp calls everyday for an update and to keep up with his progress as he grows to love his mommy and daddy. My prayers stay with you and I'm glad things are going so smooth. Happy Valentine's Day to all 3 of you. Now it won't just be a "card, floral, and chocolate celebration. Love Mom and Grandma Seipp
ReplyDeleteGot home and checked right away for new news and was so happy to hear about yesterday and today! It sounds like everything is going wonderful, and that the little difficulties are getting worked out as Sean gets more and more comfortable with you and you learn more about his wants and needs. We loved the new pictures and hearing about all of the details of the day. Love, Dad and Linda
ReplyDeleteThe expression he has on his face in the picture of him on the bed TOTALLY reminds me of Osa. We are in so much trouble when these 2 get together. Can't wait!
