We boarded the bus at 9:30 a.m. and headed to the Provincial Government building, where we waited for the children to arrive. They were coming from 3 different orphanages throughout Zhengzhou province. The first group came, but it was not Sean's group. Three families received their children and it was both joyous and difficult to witness. The next group arrived and Sean was the first one through the door. He is so beautiful and perfect. After spending the day with him and watching him sleep now, we recognize how blessed we are to have him as a part of our lives.

He looks so comfortable with you guys already. What a little sweetie!
ReplyDeleteThey don't get much cuter than that!!! So happy for you guys!!!
ReplyDeleteJoslyn, Ben MacIntyre shared your blog link with me and Angela (my wife) and I couldn't be happier for you guys! Having adopted a baby boy ourselves (from Japan in August 2010), I cannot put into words the joy he will undoubtedly bring to your lives. At some point we should connect and share stories/pictures.
ReplyDeleteOur little Taiga is now 19 months (we met him when he was 5 weeks old), and I can't remember what our lives were like without him.
We are sending you all the love and support possible as you embark on parenthood. What an amazing journey adoption is, and now you get to start a new chapter; the one you've been waiting for, for so long!!
Light and Love,
Kevin Opitz (Taiga's Daddy) :)
Jim, Joslyn, and Sean!

So, so happy for you guys! How wonderful to be able to share in the joy and love through your pictures and posts! What a beautiful little boy - and he does appear comfortable with you both already! Been wanting to share a quote with you - hoping this post finally goes through... "We didn't give you the gift of life, but in our hearts we know, the love we feel is deep and real, as if it had been so. For us to have each other is like a dream come true. No, we didn't give you the gift of life, Life gave us the gift of you". Hugs and kisses across the miles! Janine, Dan, Zach and Will
ReplyDeleteOh, he is perfect! I cannot describe the emotions I am feeling so I cannot begin to imagine the emotions you are experiencing! So, so happy you have finally been able to hold YOUR son and he to hold HIS parents. Hope the next few days go smoothly while you enjoy one anothers company. Our girls are absolutely thrilled to see his pictures and cannot wait to meet him. Blessings to you all!

What a beautiful boy he is and what a gift God has given both of you: You as his loving parents and Sean as your loving son. Seeing you both hold him remind me when Angie and Jon were born and the first time Luke and Jenny held them! Cherish your time with him while you are still in China, the 3 of you as a family, as the rest of the family can hardly wait to be added to the circle of love. Mom
ReplyDeleteJoslyn and Jim,
ReplyDeleteOh, how you have waited for this day! He is with you and you are all so lucky. We are so happy for you and cannot wait to meet him. Take care!

Great news Jim and Joslyn! He's a beautiful little boy and we are so happy for you. In the few pics you've posted, it appears you're both naturals at parenting, which we knew would be the case. Your long awaited journey, full of setbacks and delays have finally come to fruition. We hope you enjoy your remaining time in China and look forward to meeting the newly expanded Carney family!
